Specspost

Hey everyone,
I need your help which of these glasses suit me best! The kind people at www.specspost.co.uk have sent me three pairs of frames, so i can choose which ones I like. Then I'll send the frames back with my eye prescription and they will send me my new glasses!
I'm putting the decision totally in your hands! Out of the three frames you get to pick which you think I should keep and then the ones with the most votes are the ones ill pick.
If you are looking for some new glasses check out Specspost as they have amazing glasses at such low prices! All you need is to get your eyes tested and ask for a copy of you're prescription. A copy of your eye test results shouldn't cost you a thing! And then pick your frames from the many brands available on Specspost!
I am shocked at the amount of money that can be saved by getting my glasses this way instead of in-store!
so get voting and ill let you know which ones you picked.

Lots of Love,
Laura

postive friends make a postive you

As you go through life you meet so many different people. Some become friends others acquaintances but one thing we all have to learn is when its time stop holding on to someone. I don't mean being horrible or failing out but as we grow our opinions change, what we enjoy doing changes and in a sense who we are. Our goals and what we want from life differ.
Friendship should be a two way street and if you find yourself not getting any happiness out of the friendship it may be time to move on.
one of the best lessons i have learnt in life is to be around positive people. honestly You don't realise what a difference they make.  positive people urge you to grow and support you in whatever makes you happy. they can help you remain on track and encourage you in your goals.
Anyone that makes you feel down about yourself or drags you into situations you would rather not be in aren't the people to surround yourself with. does your friend phone to tell you whats going on in there life but never want to listen to your problems. This doesn't make them a bad person they may be in a different stage in their life. If someone makes you smile and laugh or makes you feel good concentrate on your relationship with them.
When you find a true friend you will fill up lifted and even if you don't speak everyday you still have a bond. Just thinking of your true friend will be enough to bring a smile to your face.
Do you agree with me? Have you learnt this life lesson the hard way let me know!

I would like to thank my friends old and new for your support and love! My blog has come so far and without you, it wouldn't be such a pleasure to write. So I thank you all from the bottom of my heart.

Lots of Love,
Laura

Apocalips Lip Lacquer

This is lots of different products rolled into one with the vibrancy of a lipstick, shine of a gloss and lasting power of a stain.  I love the extreme pigmentation which also lasts. When first applied you get a super pigmented gloss that coats your lips beautifully. The only issue I have was how precise you need to be when applying. The gloss does stain your lips and is hard to remove so you definitely need a mirror to apply so not that great for an on the go gloss!
The gloss lasts a good few hours and you are left with an even lip stain which is great as I find some stains can be quite patchy and uneven when they dry.
The gloss is not at all sticky, but does transfer quite a lot when eating or drinking. The foam applicator has an indentation so you get the right amount of product. This perfect for making sure your lips are evenly covered and stops any sort of mess that is often associated with glosses.
You get a full opaque coverage with only one coat. So although not the cheapest lip product it will last you ages.

I have two shades one called nude eclipse which is a peachy nude colour. Its a beautiful shade that is but its hard to pull off. So not for people who struggle with nudes as the the tone can wash you out. It can leave you looking like the walking dead or like you have no lips. Yet if your a new lover like me. Is perfect for day to day or for adding a a nude lip to a smokey eye look.
Apocaliptic is my other shade and isn't a tall for the faint-hearted. A breathe taking bright pink perfect for showstopping lips. It looks zing on tanned skin so defiantly one for the holiday make up case. Yet the shade still looks beautiful on paler skinned beauties. So this is the shade to pick if you want to follow the bright lip trend of this summer. This shade will brighten even the dullest day.

Do you own any of these? What shades do you like the look of?

MUA Bare days with white spots

Hey Dolls,

This week I have picked a quite summery shade! I was tempted to go neon but going to wait till I have more of a tan.
although of course I don't want to boring nails so I have picked a beautiful girly pink, this is called bare days and is by MUA it cost a whooping 1 pound. The new updated MUA polish is even better than before. I'm still not sure about the packaging. As I would buy the product not because it looks like another product but because the quality and price.
With a creamy texture and a thicker brush it goes on like a dream and is much more chip resistant than their previous polish! To add a bit of a fun I added white polka dots to every other nail!
What do you think of this shade? Do you prefer MUA's new nail varnishes?

What are you wearing this week?

Lots of Love,

The MUA debate

Some people are really beginning to get annoyed with MUA and their copy cat products. I on one hand think its healthy to give the higher end brands a run for their money. Yet is it morally right to copy other brands. I love my MUA products but should I be supporting the brand? Does making duplicates of more expensive brands mean they are giving the public who couldn't afford the other brands a chance to try things normally out of budget. or is it just stealing?
The big question is should MUA be allowed to blatantly clone products? I am not sure to be honest. I think the odd dupe is fair game but is it right to base your whole production line on copies of other brands. This has made many people boycott the brand. I think people might not be as harsh on the brand if they had some products that were unique to them as a brand.

Essie's nail varnish is £7.99 yet MUA's copies are just one pound! Yet not only are the colours dupes MUA have now changed  their packaging and it is indeed almost identical. Yet "ripping off" a companies packaging does seem like they are taking "dupe" products a bit far.

Some of MUA's products have really made an impact in the beauty world with even some of the TOWIE cast being fans. They sell lipsticks that are better than lipsticks that have previously been beauty must haves. The lipstick cost an amazing £1. Meaning you can try out the latest trends without breaking the bank.

Don't get me wrong I don't think all of MUA's products are on par with their more expensive counterparts but for more than half the price it does make you wonder where our money is going. It amazes me how MUA manage to be selling these amazing products at such low prices and still making a profit. It does make you wonder how much it costs companies to make these products and how much money they make from us.  The eye shadows may not have as much pigmentation or last as long as the more expensive palettes they copy but the MUA palettes cost so much less at £4.50 than the urban decay palette that cost £35.That is a massive difference and such good value. Yet is it ok to steal another brands idea and colours.?

Copying other companies isn't the only reason people are angry with the brand. They upset many MUA fans back in March when Karla Powell left the company. The brand posted comments on their Facebook page that many considered unprofessional and rude. I was shocked that an up and coming brand would make such a faux pas. They have since apologised for the comments but the whole incident has left people with a bitter taste in their mouths.

With their lack of tact, the fact that there products are not only good quality but so reasonably priced has been their saving grace. Meaning that the company still has a strong following, yet with the list of misdemeanors growing will the public continue to buy MUA?

What are your views on MUA?

Lots of Love,
Laura

Johnson's Daily Essentials hydrating 24 hour day cream.

If you're anything like me you will at some point have used Johnson products. The smell alone is hard enough to resist let alone the thought of baby soft skin.Well on a recent trip to the shops I noticed Johnsons have their very own moisturising face cream with a spf 15. This 24 hour moisturiser was an amazing 2 pounds.
I was very surprised that I hadn't seen their adult skincare range sooner. Yet I'm so glad I found it eventually as I can't get enough.
Johnsons have proved yet again why they are such a trusted brand, only releasing products that work and are a pleasure to use. This nourishing cream is a product your skin will love and your bank balance will adore.Once tried I'd be surprised if you would continue to pay the extreme prices some companies charge.
Filled to the brim with ingredients and minerals you can't go wrong with this miracle cream
The packaging is simple but classy. An understated glass jar with a pink lid, which will not look out of place among your other lotions and potions. The cream is thick and smells divine, leaving your skin moisturised yet non greasy. My skin was left as soft and as smooth as dare I say it a babies bottom lol.
This is a product I would recommend to anyone with dry, normal or combination skin. I am such a fan of this product it is amazing both in quality and price. This cream is now my skincare must have and has pride of place with my other daily go to products.

Have you tired this moisturiser? What is your favourite budget skincare product? Do you love any other Johnsons products?

lots of love,
Laura
